101 in 1001 update
Jan. 6th, 2010 09:06 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Figured it was time to update this, since I've hit the one year mark. Haven't made too much progress since the last update back in April. But, that's okay. Bold items are in progress.
101 in 1001 redux
1) Clean and organize craft projects and supplies.
2)Package 60 items/packs for store’s January “garage sale” Finished 1/9/09
3)Donate any items that do not sell, give away what I an and set rest of them aside for yard sale. Completed 1/31/09
4)Go through all boxes in craft room and separate items. Finished 1/4/09
5)Purge ¼ of “my” items from those boxes. Re-box all items I am keeping
6)Clean out and sort items in garage.
7)Have a yard sale in march.
8)Clean library
9)Sort action figures. Purge 1/3 of all figures
10)Box up all but ¼ of remaining figures for storage
11)Sort and organize books. Purge ¼ (this will be extremely hard!) I still have a lot of books. But I did manage to purge several, essentially a whole bookcase's worth!
12)Sort and organize cookbooks Completed 1/27/09
13)Sort and organize board and card games
14)Clean living room completed 1/23
15)Sort and organize DVD’s completed 1/10/09
16)Sort and organize CD’s completed 1/11/09
17) Buy three DVD/media shelves. UPDATE 4/7/09. I have two of the three.
18) Buy (or build) two bookcases
19)Find a TV my Atari will work on. >_> I want to play Pitfall, damnit! I figured out why I was having issues with the Atari on my big TV. The VCR and the Atari want the same slot. I only have about a half dozen VHS tapes now, and I hope to eventually replace them w/ DVD's so, that's no biggie. But if there's some sort of splitter out there to make them both work at once? Please point me toward it.
20) ChangedAcquire a full-size mattress and box springs for my other bed. is nowBuy a chair futon. Completed March 2009
21)Rent a climate-controlled storage unit. Completed March 2009
22)Box up statues for moving
23) ChangedRecover cat tree and post is now build/acquire a new cat tree.
24) Finish sorting comics
25) Catch up on reading comics
26) Purge ½ of collection
27) Decide what titles are “must haves” and get subscriptions
28) Read every unread book in my library. This one may take awhile.
29)Changed Empty the ebay room before I have to move. Yes, this is a broad comment. But that’s essentially what needs to happen. It will all go away, and soon. is now Purge all TCG. Computer issues kept me form meeting the purge before I move goal. All TCG from the business is now gone.
30)Get eyes checked. Completed 1/26
31)Get new glasses. This is a priority. My lenses are cracking. I want to keep these frames though. Got new lenses, completed 1/28
32) Save up for a new laptop
33)Save up $2000.00 for Botcon ’09. A large chunk of that is travel expense. I’m riding cross country with
ravynfyre and staying in her hotel room. But I’m a stickler for paying my way. Botcon was a blast! I only manged about 1500. But that's okay.
34) Save up and have leak in car roof repaired (finally)
35)Attempt to pay off debts. It is entirely possible that I will declare bankruptcy, as I have too many from the business. I would prefer not. But if needs must, then that’s what will happen. Declared bankruptcy. Not happy about doing it, but it was unavoidable.
36) Splurge on a pound of Silk Oolong Formosa
37)Make art every week for a month Completed 2/1/09
38)Make art every week for three months completed March 09 I had to give myself some leeway here. I wasn't counting the mini-projects at work or classes originally, because "oh, it must be the self-motivated arts!" but March was more than a little busy for me. Besides, I'm still making things.
39) Make art every week for six months
40) Make art every week for a year (Do you see what I want to start focusing on again?)
41) Successfully bake biscuits from scratch. Like most baking, this skill has eluded me in my 34 years.
42)Merchant at FoS 2009, or team up with someone to do so. I know now there’s a market there for my hand-stitched books, altered composition books, and fairies, at least. I merch'ed and it was a fail. There is market for my stuff, yes. It just isn't the local pagan community.
43)CLEP Realm 1
43) Go through Realm 2
44) Go through realm 3
45)Make and start recording items in my own Book of Shadows
46) Create a budget and stick to it. This will be considered in progress when I’ve stuck to it for three months straight, and done, when I’ve managed it for a year
47) Play and actually finish my unfinished Playstation and X-Box games
48) Pick up a copy of Shadow Hearts 3
49) Pick up a copy of Kingdom Hearts 2 These are both games I’ve wanted for awhile, but I’ve denied myself due to expense and the fact that I “don’t have time.” Screw it. I’ll make time. I enjoy my video games, damnit!
50) On that note, actually install the MYST trilogy I’ve been sitting on for six freaking months and play through them all (again). And pick up whatever the fourth one is called.
51) Take Pepper, Goyle, and Yin to the vet and have their shots updated.
52) Buy a juicer.
53)Finish my Ani Blackarachnia app and actually submit it. >_>
54) Start participating in
genrechallenge again.
55)Submit at least one item to Crossed Genres in 2009 I wrote an article!
56) Submit at least one item to Crossed Genres in 2010
57) Submit at least one item to Crossed Genres in 2011
58)Make all my Christmas cards for 2009 by the end of Sept. This worked out pretty well this past year, though I was still late in sending them out. This was largely due to my envelopes arriving late, though. Didn't finish them by that date, but I did get them out so that most everyone had theirs before Christmas.
59) Make all my Christmas cards for 2010 by the end of Sept
60) Make all my Christmas cards for 2011 by the end of Sept
61)Visit my family twice in 2009
62) Visit my family twice in 2010
63) Visit my family twice in 2011- the second visit will likely happen after the Sept 29th deadline, however.
64) Start taking Yoga classes
65) Treat myself to a facial and body massage at a spa
66) Start strength training again 1/30 Starting of with just some hand weights. But it's something.
67) Buy a new pair of quality sneakers and inserts
68) Pick up a second job –OR- find a better paying FT job and relegate E to PT status. It’s hard, because I make a pretty decent (for retail) wage at E. It just doesn’t have benefits and in reality is not enough to live on anymore.
69) Get into an exercise routine. Aim for 30-45mins every day for a week
70) Exercise: Aim for 30-45mins every day for a month
71) Exercise: Aim for 30-45mins every day for three months. By then, it should be a habit, and be easier to keep up
72) Lose another 20 pounds. >_> yes, I’m almost at the 20lb mark, even with the slight backslide the last two weeks of December. Twenty pounds is a reasonable mark for me to shoot for at a time. My “goal” weight is between 140-150lbs. Which, while it may still sound “heavy” to some people, is a reasonable goal for my height, muscle mass, and body style.
73) Lose 20 pounds again.
74) And again.
75) And again
76) And again. Then throw a HUGE party. >_>
77) Start an herb garden (holdover from old list)
78) Learn Japanese (holdover from old list)
79) Make a big batch of chicken stock; portion and freeze. Considering that the organic broth I like usually costs five bucks a box, and I never buy less than four boxes, if I start making my own broth I should quickly show a savings.
80) Cook my way through one of my cookbooks. Every dish, regardless of my “likes and dislikes.”
81) Start composting: to be started after I move into a place of my own.
82) Locate and purchase the tea pitcher which matches my Depression Glass pattern, American Sweetheart pink. I’ve seen them before, and they are never less than $400. American Sweetheart was the thinnest glass produced, and very little of the glassware survived intact. The pitcher is my Holy Grail.
83) Frame all artwork, prints, and movie posters (holdover from old list)
84) Find an original one-sheet from Chamber of Secrets and for Half-blood Prince and buy them. I have all the HP movie posters except those two.
85) Buy a glass fusing kiln.
86) Pick out material and pattern and make my “robes.” I don’t wear robes. They aren’t my style. However, I have been kicking around a design which is not for robes per se, but would still work in group cases where robes are required.
87) Attend Botcon in 2010
88) Attend Botcon in 2011
89) Costume up at one of those Botcons. I was going to do it this year. But I just don’t think I’ll be able to manage it. Well, I could. But not the way I want to do it.
90) Find my way up north to visit
sapphirebreeze >_>
91)Give all handmade gifts for Christmas/Yule 2009
92) Give all handmade gifts for Christmas/Yule 2010
93) Give all handmade gifts for Christmas/Yule 2011. Yes, including it here, even though it’s after the “deadline.” Because if I’m realistically going to do that, I’ll need to start well before then.
94) Get a pedicure
95) Attend a Gencon NOT as staff.
96) Make another trip to Mammoth Cave. Will have to save for this one.
97) Go camping. Somewhere. Preferably in the mountains.
98) Actually do something with my etsy.com store
99) Purchase a copy of Song of the South, as they do exist still. They’re just pricey. Say what you will about it. It was one of my favorite films as a kid.
100) Get a membership to the Botanic Gardens- and visit often
101) Not be afraid to edit/amend this list as time and tide dictate.
