I can understand disliking Snape. Personally, I don't consider him to be "redeemed" either. He was still a bad guy; he just bond himself to the good guys. I just enjoy complex villains. I would also be lying if I didn't admit that I adore Alan Rickman's portrayal of the character, which increases the character appeal.
