I know all about the peace of mind thing. I had a few moments in one of our previous living-places (not even a house, dammit) when I'd duck a little and ask myself, "Okay self, was that actual gunfire, or just the college kids whipping firecrackers out their car windows again?" Of course, back when I lived out in the sticks with my dad, it was always gunfire, and usually my dad's gun. Oy.
Anyway, I understand the cats thing. They trick you into thinking they're low-maintenance by sleeping all damn day, but then they wake up and you have to take them to the vet, or buy them all new scratchers because they've suddenly decided they like the carpet on your stairs better than their old scratchers...
What sort of businesses, if you don't mind my being nosey?
